CMPC Mentorship

Individuals pursuing the Certified Mental Performance Consultant (CMPC)® credential need to have mentored hours from an Approved Mentor. Our mentorship is provided by Erin Haugen, PhD, LP, CMPC.

Dr. Haugen provides mentorship to CMPC applicants who are licensed mental health professionals or are pursuing a degree eligible for mental health licensure. She has been an approved CMPC mentor since 2014.

Mentorship Details

Mentees must have access to their own client base for the mentorship to be successful. Mentorship sessions may occur in person or via a HIPAA-secure video conference platform. Dr. Haugen reviews session material in person or via the secure video conferencing platform, which enables her to provide effective feedback about your work with athletes. Mentees must have liability insurance. It is also understood that mentorship hours do not count toward hours for licensure as a psychologist or other mental health professional (e.g., LPCC, LCSW).

Dr. Haugen specializes in working with elite athletes, especially college student-athletes. She has extensive experience working with sports medicine professionals and was given the 2023 Jack Weakley Award of Distinction from NATA for lifetime outstanding contributions directly impacting health care in the area of athletics, athletic training, and sports medicine. Therefore, if you work with or consult within those areas, she can offer additional insights.

Contact us to set up a meeting with Dr. Haugen to discuss the potential mentorship arrangement and determine if it is a good fit for both parties.

Fee: $175 per mentorship hour
